Introducing the new CallerID Management module for PBXact and PBXtended!
The CallerID Management module is a unique way to modify the caller ID that is outpulsed on the fly. By utilizing a simple feature code you can change your caller ID for one call or all calls. When the feature code is dialed it only modifies the caller ID on the phone that it was dialed from, this is not system wide. You can even program a key on your phone for even quicker caller ID changing!
Let's take a look at the configuration options
- Name: This is a descriptive name of the CallerID Management Toggle.
- Prefix: This is the feature code that needs to be dialed to activate the alternate Caller ID. The module pre populates this with the next availiable feature code, however you can override this.
- CalledID Name: This is the CallerID name that you want displayed. Note: Your voice service provider must support caller ID changing for this to work on outbound calls.
- CallerID Num: This is the number to outpulse.
- Permanent: If checked, this will permanently set your CallerID for your extension to the number associated with the given feature code. To change your Caller ID for your extension in the future you would dial a different feature code or log into the Admin GUI and change it in the extension itself.. For example, we can see above that the Prefix of *200 is set to permanent. When this code is used all future calls will outpulse that specified Caller ID information.
- Delete: Deletes the CallerID Feature Code.
Additional Features
In addition to the standard features above we have also included the ability to randomize your out pulsed Caller ID.
To generate a random caller ID you can see that we have entered _920XXXXXXX into the CallerID Num field.
